My Secret Santa
Feb
As a youngster growing up, Christmas was always special to me. It was gathering of the relatives sharing fun times , great meals , and of course the visits from Santa. As an adult, and a single parent I tried my best to pass on traditions , and create the excitement of Santa’s visit. This was not always easy as money was tight.
Then one year, at work ,Christmas Eve left on my desk was a huge Gift Basket. The contents in the basket were all the extras of Christmas. Home- baked cookies, meat pies, candies for the kids, wine for Me, and a gift certificate to a Mens wear store. Secret Santa wanted me to buy something for myself.
This went on for the next ten years, I had an idea who it was , but even asking her, face to face, she would just smile and not say anthing. I did wish she would own up to it-
Then two years ago, My Secret Santa, Passed away, and the gift baskets did stop. This did confirm who really was my Secret Santa. I realized what a wonderful thing she did for me, made Christmas a little extra special for me and the kids. I think of her many times, especially at christmas, her unselfish deeds and the goodness from her heart.
